SERIOUS WEATHER DIELMA: Baby, it's really freaking cold outside. How to venture out into the slushy streets without looking like you're channeling Randy in a Christmas Story?
SOLUTION: you don't have to.
The awesome people at Uniqlo gifted me this shirt and honestly, it couldn't have come at a better time.
THANK YOU UNIQLO!
My new HEATTECH shirt is so lightweight, breathable, super soft, stretchy, and of course, warm. I was skeptical at first, but after some testing I fear going out in the cold without it. Yes, I admit it, I've been wearing it for days at a time. Fortunately the shirt has antimicrobial/ odor control properties, so you too can get away with multiple wears.
I find HEATTECH works best as an insulator than as a heat generator; as it does so by wicking away moisture from your skin. When I think of moisture, sweat comes to mind. Which sounds to me like you have to actually be hot in the first place for the shirt to do its' job. That being said, you shouldn't expect it to start heating you up if you're standing in the middle of the arctic tundra with no other layers. It's a shirt, people. Not an electric blanket. All things considered, after working all day in my very warm store wherein we were blasting the heat, I felt confident enough to step out into the freezing cold evening--you know, between snowstorms-- with no coat. Our locks had just been changed and I wanted to test out my new key. It was during this time that I found Uniqlo's HEATTECH to be the most impressive. This was a true test of the shirt's abilities. And it passed with flying colors of the warmest hues.
The line boasts a variety of apparel including tights, which I'm now eager to try.
BTW: Warmest winter tip: LAYER your tights!
People: No longer do we have to don ALL the layers. In fact on some days, cardigan obsessed me has donned this as her only layer. Yes, we can be warm and still be our attractive, confident, non-frumpy selves.
Having exceeded even my expectations, I encourage you to try it for yourself. You've got nothing to lose.... well, except maybe all that body heat currently escaping from you.....
What would you wear this HEATTECH shirt with?
